Manu Ginobili: The Bat vs Manu. Man wins, “Batgate” Begins
Update: November 6th, 2009
“Batgate” scandal is being reinforced by an officer of the ATT center.
Manu Ginobili made my Halloween just a little bit more special this year. When Manu hit the bat, I thought to myself “Is this some sort of Halloween gag?”
I mean, Greg Popovich did prank Shaq last season with his first quarter rendition of hack a Shaq. I wouldn’t hold something like this past him.
Professional athletes are indeed superior to us in that their motor skills and hand eye coordination exceed ours.
To swing at a bat flying at a high velocity in one motion and strike it to the ground exceeds everyone’s dexterity expectations.
Thankfully Manu did not wait. His actions allowed me to leave on time for my Halloween party without missing the rest of the game.
The bat allegedly had disappeared when officials tried to locate the animal.
My “Bategate” theory is that Ginobili actually killed the bat.
If you watch the video, Ginobili hit that little bat with such great force that it is hard to imagine that it survived the strike. Rather than having a season long PETA vs. NBA case on their hands, the Spurs disposed of the creature claiming it vanished. Clever.
President Obama might be the only person to one-up Ginobili when he killed a fly:
The main difference being that Obama had time to stand up, and stop the interview, and make a point of seeking and destroying the fly.
Ginobili vs. Obama: Ginobili wins.
For all actions there are consequences, and for Manu that equates to a battery of vaccinations he will have injected over the next 4 months. Ouch.
Moral of the story: We all knew Manu was deadly on the court, but know we have a clearer idea at just how deadly.
