PROTECT THE PAINT

For our 6^th installment of NBA Look-Alike Morphings we are replying to an email by a reader asking for a request so challenging, we decided to give it a try: Kobe Bryant vs Stewie,  the ridiculous baby character  from Family Guy.

At first glance, I must confess, I thought this too ridiculous to attempt. What in the world, I asked, do Kobe and Stewie have in common, if anything at all?

After doing some research, our art department researched multiple images, and discovered a striking similarity: gesticulation.  I will now take you on a step by step leading up to the Kobe vs Stewie morph.

Kobe is a vocal leader on the court for his NBA World Champion Lakers.  Sometimes he can be snotty about refs missing a call, similarly to a whiny, animated Stewie .

Kobe can also make sulking faces when things are not going his way during a game.  Stewie the baby has this mastered. Hmmm.

Do you think Kobe watches Family Guy?

All top players are known to receive preferential treatment by the league, especially when it comes to the refs blowing their authoritative whistles.  When the whistle is not favoring him, Kobe makes faces gesturing dramatically to show the world his disbelief. So does Stewie.

Occasionally when a player gets under his skin, Kobe gets upset, and points his finger to single someone out. Usually Kobe follows up with unkind words and more whining at the refs. Stewie is known to act this way too.

Stewie has thoughts of grandeur and plots world domination. It is safe to say Kobe has a similar plan with his shoe and endorsement sales. Oh yeah, and his $25/month membership fee to join his website.

Kobe and Stewie have also have had run-ins with the law. Kobe lost many sponsorship deals as a result of his well documented rape allegations. It also cost him $4 million for the rock he bought his wife to make amends.

Based on this illogical example of Protect the Paint reasoning, we can now present to you,  the most challenging and fun morph project to date: NBA Look-Alike Morphing #6: Kobe Bryant vs Stewie from Family Guy.
