Warning: There May Be A Big Baby Tweeting Impostor

News, Opinions, Rumors

Since the story broke that Boston Celtics restricted free agent Glen Davis was making his thoughts regarding the lack of communication with the organization and the frustration it was causing public via Twitter, he now claims @bigbabybball (1,600 followers now) is not him, according to the Boston Herald.

Does that mean he’s not going around giving away jerseys to random people on the street? How disappointing. Just one of those jerseys could be used successfully sailing to an America’s Cup victory.

If it is him, you’d think he’d just pull a Brian Wilson–the San Franciso Giants’ closer who tweeted about fun on the road–then quickly eliminated the account when those tweets threatened to cause an uproar.

The fact that hasn’t happened leads me to believe he could be telling the truth. Which makes you wonder just who gets their jollies impersonating a man known as Big Baby.

Maybe it’s a ploy to get traded because with Sheed now in town, K.G., Kendrick Perkins, and newly acquired Shelden Williams, there do seem to be fewer minutes for Davis. If that were the case though, then why would he deny it?

Most troubling to Big Baby has to be the fact that not one team has approached with an offer sheet. Then again, was he really deluded into thinking there was a robust market for a guy pushing 300 pounds coming off a season in which he averaged 7 points and 4 rebounds in 76 games?

Sweet profile photo either way.
